Travis Joyal (Baldwin, MA), a freshman injured in the MACH-South Semifinals vs Kennesaw St has been released from the hospital. He is home in Massachussets where he continues to rehabilitate. We continue to wish him well in his recovery.

The ACHA has released the schedule for the 2012 Division II National Championships in Ft Myers. FL hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University. Each team is guaranteed 3 games in pool play and the team that wins the pool will advance to play in the national semifinals. All games will be played at Germain Arena in Estero, FL and broadcast on FastHockey....

Matt Bloom scored 4:38 into overtime to give UMBC a 2-1 win over Rowan and send the team to the ACHA DII National Tournament.

In an incident that occurred on Saturday's game vs Kennesaw State, UMBC Freshman forward Travis Joyal (Baldwin, MA) sustained a serious head injury. He was hit from behind into the boards, dislodging his helmet and causing him to strike his head on the ice. Travis was taken off on a stretcher, and transported via ambulance to a nearby hospital....
